How do I split the tip with a group?+
When closing the tab, you can add a tip and taffel distributes it proportionally: whoever ordered more pays more. No mental math or arguments over cents.
Can I upload multiple receipts in one event?+
No. Each event is one receipt. For another bill — another dinner, another bar — create a new event with its own link.
How do we see the group totals?+
When closing the tab, everyone sees their summary: items, tip, and total. The group sees all summaries and you can mark who has already paid to coordinate transfers.
How do we split expenses between friends without the hassle?+
Whoever uploads the receipt confirms their email; everyone else joins with the link and their name, no account required. In less than a minute, the group has a breakdown of what each person owes.
Do I need to download an app to use taffel?+
No. taffel works 100% from the browser — on your phone or computer. Nothing to install or update.
Do my friends need to create an account?+
Not required. They join with the link and their name. If they want to save the event or return when the link expires, they can leave their email (optional). Whoever creates the event does confirm their email.
Does it work for receipts in any currency?+
Yes. taffel automatically detects the currency from the receipt (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.). All amounts in the event use that same currency.
